Spring
A fresh start and new growth.
We've slogged through soggy grey days.
Bulbs are pushing their way up to the light.
It's the perfect time to revitalize
the space we call home.
The fastest way to
the most dramatic
transformation is paint.
Clear the clutter.
Clean it up.
Paint it Spring!

Bold prints,
whisper soft solids,
crisp whites.
Even leather and suede have spring fever:
A great color scheme
is like a great perfume:
a mix of base notes for grounding,
midtones for range,
and high notes to soar.
For more drama,
amp up the contrast.
To mellow out your space
while keeping it fresh,
tamp down the contrast
by softening the darks and lights.
And finally, in celebration of the glorious, riotous, swell of energy that is Spring:

by Edna St. Vincent Millay
To what purpose, April, do you return again?
Beauty is not enough.
You can no longer quiet me with the redness
Of little leaves opening stickily.
I know what I know.
The sun is hot on my neck as I observe
The spikes of the crocus.
The smell of the earth is good.
It is apparent that there is no death.
But what does that signify?
Not only under ground are the brains of men
Eaten by maggots.
Life in itself
Is nothing,
An empty cup, a flight of uncarpeted stairs.
It is not enough that yearly, down this hill,
April
Comes like an idiot, babbling and strewing flowers.
